Job Description

What you will do: The Web Application Developer will create new web applications, enhance and maintain existing applications using ColdFusion as the primary server-side scripting language and SQL Server as the primary RDBMS. Must have knowledge of MS Access for legacy conversion projects to SQL Server. All code is written, tested and pushed to production in a Windows environment following application design documents and guidelines.

Required Skills:

Minimum 5 years experience writing database-driven websites and applications in ColdFusion (to ver. 10)

Minimum 3 years experience writing database-driven websites and applications in ASP.net

Minimum 5 years experience writing database-driven websites and applications in JAVA

Minimum 5 years database experience writing queries for and managing SQL Server

Proficiency in HTML and CSS

Proficiency in Javascript and understanding of the DOM and how to access and manipulate it

Must be able to show examples of programming work in live websites / applications

Other Requirements:

Strong mathematical and analytical skills.

Strong interpersonal communication skills (written & verbal) and the ability to work as part of a diverse team, as well as independently

Strong attention to detail

While not a design position, the ideal candidate must have good eye and understanding for UI web design

Ability to solve problems effectively with an optimistic and helpful disposition

Ability to follow instructions and respond to management and team direction quickly

Ability to follow the department and organizational processes and meet established goals and deadlines

Must be capable of performing in a dynamic environment, handling multiple tasks simultaneously with the ability to work on multiple projects at any time

Desired Skills:

Very strong SQL skills including experience writing complicated SQL statements involving multiple tables and stored procedures

Ability to handle migration of MS Access databases to SQL Server

Proficiency in AJAX, Javascript libraries such as jQuery and Scriptaculous, HTML5, Photoshop

Webmaster knowledge such as setting up and configuring sites in IIS (to version 7)

Experience with writing and using ColdFusion Components (CFCs)
