Department Overview
The Department of Health Behavior and Health Systems at the University of North Texas Health Science Center (UNTHSC) in Ft. Worth is seeking an outstanding faculty colleague at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor (tenure-track or tenured).

UNIVERSITY - Located in the Fort Worth cultural district, the University of North Texas Health Science Center is one of the fastest-growing academic health science centers in Texas. The University enrolls 2,700 graduate students in the fields of public health, medicine, biomedical science, pharmacy, physical therapy, and physician assistant studies. The University is well-positioned for rapid expansion, matching the growing population and economic vitality of the DFW Metroplex. At this time, the University of North Texas Health Science Center and Texas Christian University (TCU) are planning to launch a new allopathic (MD) medical school. This effort will establish the UNTHSC as one of the few campuses in the U.S. to support both an allopathic and an osteopathic college of medicine. Position Details
The successful candidate will have a program of research that addresses problems in reproductive health, MCH nutrition, infant mortality, health disparities and minority health, or in other areas of women's and children's health. The department is particularly interested in candidates who rely on a life course approach to research and practice. Preference may be given to candidates who have completed postdoctoral research fellowship training.

Required Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess the following required qualifications:

* PhD or equivalent in public health, epidemiology, nursing, nutrition or a closely related health science field

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:

* Recognition or promise of outstanding contributions as a scholar
* Successful record or promise of sponsored research and ability to foster a collaborative program of research
* Enthusiasm for teaching
* Commitment to inter-professional education and interdisciplinary research
