Instructor - Therapist - Depression Center

Operating within the University of Colorado - School of Medicine, the Helen and Arthur E. Johnson Depression Center is located on the state-of-the-art Anschutz Medical Campus alongside facilities for six schools, three hospitals, and 41 affiliated specialty centers and institutes. The Center has three core areas: Research, Clinical Care and Community Programs /Education. Together, these three program areas create a comprehensive approach to care for people with mood disorders that is found nowhere else in the Rocky Mountain region.

This position will provide therapeutic evaluation and treatment of patients with behavioral, emotional and mental disorders at the Depression Center.

Position duties include providing clinical care, teaching and supervision of behavioral health trainees, working with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care, and participating in quality improvement initiatives and research projects.

Successful candidates will have:

  • Master's in Social Work (or related degree) or Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD).
  • The ability to obtain appropriate Colorado state licensure.
  • 2+ years' experience in clinical psychology, primary care or behavioral medicine.

Additional know-how includes:

  • Clinical skill is required for conducting brief and targeted assessments to provide psychotherapy interventions, health and behavior change, substance use treatment, and triage for appropriate level of care.
  • Demonstrated skill in supervision of clinical staff and trainees
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clinic faculty and staff.
  • Ability to work effectively on multiple tasks and maintain a well-organized work environment.
