The Administrative Assistant - Financial Aid fulfills daily duties and responsibilities that support the financial aid office and student success & engagement division to provide high quality information and student service. This position is located at the front desk of the third floor in the Student Center. This position serves as the administrative assistant for financial aid but is also a general receptionist for the third floor student success and engagement area.
Manage the day to day business operations of the financial aid office.
Manage the supplies inventory and order or purchase items as needed. Coordinate the inventory of capital equipment. Assist and organize travel for staff for various conferences and other travel. Sort and distribute mail and documents. Process student letters, running periodic reports, update office calendar, manage work-study students, manage director's appointments/calendar, and fulfill documents requests for additional forms/paperwork. Assist in coordinating mailings with the postal services department.
Serve as a Student Success and Engagement (SS&E) representative.
Assist students and families with inquires and questions on the third floor. Direct students and families to the appropriate person or department. Accept and monitor other submitted paperwork for Student Success and Engagement (SS&E) division. Sort and distribute mail to the appropriate offices on the third floor. Assist with other student success & engagement division tasks and assignments upon request, including but not limited, to answering incoming phone calls and assisting in other areas.
Serve as a Financial Aid Department representative.
Support and assist students with inquires, questions, and problems. Assist with other inter-departmental tasks and assignments upon request, including but not limited, to answering incoming phone calls and assisting at the front desk.
- High School Diploma or GED, Two or more years of college preferred
- Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- One year of experience working in financial aid, enrollment management, higher education or related fields.
- Community College experience preferred
