About the College/Department
The College of Education and Health Professions comprises five academic departments with more than 100 faculty members, the university's intramural and recreational sports department, and 17 research and service units. The Curriculum and Instruction Department prepares students for many careers in education. CIED offers majors and concentrations in career and technical education, childhood/elementary education, educational leadership, educational technology, secondary education, special education, school administration, and gifted and talented education.

Summary of Job Duties
The Director of Outreach for the Principal Fellows Program develops, communicates, invests others in, and manages the delivery of the internship and cohort training, and the on-going professional development program for new and existing Principal Fellows. This position will be based in Little Rock, Arkansas with frequent travel to the Arkansas Delta and Northwest AR.
The Director of Outreach for the Principal Fellows Program will ensure the success of the fellows by fostering close working relationships with the University of Arkansas Principal Fellow leadership team. Responsibilities will include traveling to and observing fellows' internship experiences; providing detailed oral and written feedback; communicating with principals, mentors, and other stakeholders regarding fellows' progress; and assisting fellows with long-term goal-setting and monitoring progress towards goals. This position will also be called on to assist with the recruitment and selection process of the fellows. This position must be able and willing to travel across the state by automobile (with mileage reimbursement) and be available to work some nights and weekends.

- Bachelor's degree in education or related area that leads to teaching certification
- Three or more years of experience as an educator in a low-income area or need-based school district
- One or more years working with economically disadvantaged youth

- Master's degree in Educational Leadership
- Two or more years of experience organizing and working with educators and/or leadership training programs
- Two or more years in a principal or assistant principal position preferably in a high needs school

- Knowledge of Educator and/or Leadership Training Programs
- Demonstrable communication skills - both writing and verbal
- Demonstrable ability to work effectively in developing partnerships with school leaders who are not previously known by the applicant
