Position Summary

Coordinate projects dealing with vector surveillance and control in Michigan, including supervision of students and interns. Work closely with investigators at other institutions in the Center, and with public health and vector control agencies in the region. Conduct original research in areas of new surveillance approaches, novel vector control methods, vector population genetics, and/or management of resistance in vector populations. Prepare project reports, participate in and present results at organizational and scientific meetings, and publish results in peer-reviewed journals.  Position is a 12-month fixed term appointment, with annual reappointment based on performance and availability of funding.

Required Degree

Doctorate -Entomology, Disease Ecology or related

Minimum Requirements
  • Doctorate in Entomology, Disease Ecology or related field
  • Experience in conducting field research in vector ecology and coordinating research activities.
  • Database management skills. 
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a research team, and to communicate effectively orally and through publication.
