Position Summary

The Department of Media and Communications at Saint Augustine’s University invites applications for full-time position with a special emphasis in broadcasting concentration.  Candidates must have a proven ability to introduce the basics of still and video cameras and be able to work hands-on with students both in the classroom and the field to teach them how to report, shoot and edit stories.  Candidates should also be prepared to teach classes such as copy editing and writing for TV and radio. Dual professional experience in film production is a plus.


Teaching responsibilities will include courses in visual communication, basic film editing, audio production, video production, news writing for radio and on-air presentation as well as the creation and supervision of a weekly, student-produced news broadcast on our campus TV station. Other obligations will include:

  • Advising.
  • Research/creative endeavor.
  • Service to Institution and community.
  • Maintain some level professional activities in the broadcasting industry.


Ph.D. of M.F.A. degree in broadcasting or related area as well as college-level teaching experience. However, candidates with regionally or nationally recognized professional experience will be considered. Significant (5-7 years) experience in broadcast production at major television station preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Climb, bend, reach, and able to lift up to 25 pounds.
