Job Title Coordinator, Honors Programming & Outreach

Job Description

The Coordinator, Honors Programming and Outreach will serve as the liaison with FGCU's Office of Admissions and focus on recruiting high-achieving students and National Merit Scholars to FGCU and the Honors College. Responsible for maintaining the program's website, creating outreach material, managing honors program events and related programming.



Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization.

Two years of experience with any of the following: community outreach, program planning, academic support services, advising, marketing, or event planning.

Experience writing, editing, or designing publications or social media.

Valid driver's license. Willingness to travel/work on occasional evenings and
weekends.



Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree from an accredited institution in Student Affairs, Higher Education, Counseling, or other related field.



Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of and ability to use strong oral and written communication skills.

Knowledge of digital technologies and best practices and utilization of social media/website for dissemination of information.

Knowledge of interpersonal communication techniques.

Ability to manage details of an event or project.

Ability to collect, analyze, organize and present information in a meaningful manner.

Ability to integrate digital communications and marketing.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.



Salary Range $37,000 - $40,000

Job Duties

Essential Job Duties

•Manages Honors College student programming, events, and special ceremonies including Honors Signature Social Events, Honors Cording Ceremonies, Honors Award and Pinning Ceremonies, and Honors Orientation sessions.

•Creates flyers, handouts, visual aids, and info graphics that support events and programming.

•Manages updates to Honors College website, canvas page, and social media; delegating to Administrative Assistant and Honors Student Media Team as appropriate.

•Coordinates Honors College admission for all first-time-in-college (FTIC) students, current students and transfer students.

•Maintains accurate records of all honors eligible and admitted honors students; provides Director with annual reports and admission metrics.

•Tracks and reports on student event attendance metrics.

•Utilizes Banner Student Management System to verify students' admission records.

•Serves as a Liaison with the Office of Admissions as well as other individual departments and colleges to distribute accurate information and timely responses to prospective honors students.

•Promotes and assists students in applying for foundation and merit scholarships.

•Coordinates marketing materials, mailings, and other outreach to prospective honors students.

•Initiates and manage honors recruiting and outreach by leading recruitment drives, high school recruiting visits and events, advertising and marketing.
