Allied Health Skills Lab Coordinator
The position of ALLIED HEALTH SKILLS LABORATORY COORDINATOR is available in the Academic Affairs Division. This position is on a full-time, 12-month basis, working under the direction of the Director of the Nursing Program.
Responsible for coordinating credit laboratories. The person in this position provides key support for academic Health programs and courses including Nursing, Emergency Medical Services, and Physical Therapist Assistant. Specific responsibilities include: coordinating the day-to-day management of the Allied Health Division (AHD) laboratories; ordering and storing all supplies and equipment used in the AHD skills laboratories; maintaining a current inventory of equipment and supplies used to facilitate student/faculty interaction; setting up or assisting with set-up of laboratories and simulations; cleaning, maintaining, repairing or arranging for repair of all equipment used in the AHD skills laboratories; trouble shooting basic equipment issues, coordinating and tracking equipment maintenance to include preventative maintenance, instructional manuals and warranty information; acting as primary contact person with all medical equipment supply companies and vendors; collaborating with room scheduling and facilities to coordinate AHD lab use; collaborating with faculty and staff to assure the laboratory environment supports the educational and technical needs of the programs and various curricula; participating in the research, preview and ordering of supplies, equipment, media or software for the AHD laboratories; discussing course needs with faculty and submitting requests to the division chair; developing and maintaining professional relationships to assist faculty in developing laboratory curricula; coordinating skills packs and student supplies for various courses with faculty and the bookstore; managing requisitions and invoices for supplies and equipment; participating in college, division, and program meetings as appropriate; supervising student assistants; participating in orientation of new students; maintaining accounting records and performing other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS: Requirements include Bachelor’s degree; competency in the operation of computers and application software to include Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and email; familiarity with budgets; experience in inventory control systems; monitoring and ordering of medical supplies; competency in organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and flexibility required. Must be skilled in communicating with students and other faculty members, manipulating equipment, planning and organizing lab sessions for student in various nursing courses, and have knowledge of the use of technology in education. Technical experience with high-fidelity patient simulation equipment and a variety of low- and medium-fidelity simulation equipment preferred.
SALARY: Grade 10, on the 12-month Salary Scale. Minimum starting salary range: $45,148 - $60,648, with actual placement based on credentials. Includes excellent fringe benefit package.
