Unit Job Summary: The role of the AV Technician is to primarily provide dedicated audiovisual services to corporate clients. Provide professional and excellent customer service. Exceed the expectations of internal and external clients, faculty and guests. Support in-house technicians for setup and tear down of a/v equipment. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: -Provide on-site support to all clients to include faculty, staff and corporate clients. -Test, setup and tear down equipment such as LCD projectors, wireless microphones, PA speakers, audio mixers, video screens, monitors, and video cameras. -Provide audio visual dedicated services to clients as requested. -Assist and instruct guests and clients regarding wi-fi logins. -Communicate AV equipment issues and on-site add-ons to AV Manager and Conference Services Managers. -Effectively manage time and respond quickly to last minute requests. -Report any audiovisual equipment issues to AV Manager or log them as needed.

Unit Education: High school diploma required.

Unit Experience: Experience in audio/visual communications or similar technical experience required. Demonstrated experience in a customer service oriented position required. Experience in an academic environment strongly preferred.

Unit Job Function Competencies: Knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint on both PC and Apple products required. Ability to work in a team environment required. Professional demeanor and appearance required. Ability to work independently and complete setups, tear downs and projects by set deadlines required. Ability to trouble-shoot audio visual issues quickly with a calm and courteous demeanor required. Flexibility with schedule including nights, weekends and some early mornings required. IT knowledge preferred.
