Department Overview
The UNT Career Center is the centralized career office responsible for the career development and employment of all UNT students and alumni. It has responsibility for all Student Employment, Internships, and Post-Graduate Employment of UNT students.

Job Description
The Career Center Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire an Administrative Specialist II to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

* Provide administrative support and front-line customer service for the Career Center and supervising reception area students.
* Process Criminal History background checks and assist in the processing of student employment documents for the entire campus.
* Confidentiality, tracking and documentation are critical roles for this position.

Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a High School diploma or GED equivalent and two years of general office or clerical experience. Substitution of education for experience allowed. The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required:
* Skill in telephone etiquette and courteous communication with public, verbally and in writing.
* Skill in evaluating facts or situation to route calls/customers appropriately.
* Basic MS Office skills.
* Skill in the operation of a variety of office machines including, personal computers, telephones and copiers.
* Skill in filing and recordkeeping.
* Skill in English composition, grammar, spelling and punctuation.
* Skill in basic math.
* Knowledge of standard office policies and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:

* Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
* 1-3 years of general office or clerical experience.
* The ability to provide administrative assistance for the Career Center reception areas.
* Previous supervision of part-time or full-time employees.
* Knowledge of HR/employment processing or financial aid processing.
