Job Description
The Office of Admissions Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire an Administrative Specialist II to join our team.

The Administrative Specialist II is a key member in the 5-person team responsible for processing both domestic and international undergraduate applications to UNT.

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
* Verifying and data entry of academic credentials and test results.
* Updating application checklists.
* Entering admissions decisions.
* Entering transfer credit.
* Linking imaged documents to applications on file.
* Routing applications for counselor or committee review.
* Routing documents appropriately after admission to u.achieve or imaging.
* Processing admissions decision packets.
* Assisting students with inquiries re: applications via phone, email or in person.
* Excellent attention to detail, especially with high volume workload.
* Ability to prioritize.
* Flexibility to changing priorities.
* Excellent customer service skills.
* A can-do attitude.
* Ability to work both as a motivated individual and as a cohesive team.
* Willingness to work occasional extended hours during registration and peak processing periods.

Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a High School diploma or GED equivalent and two years of general office or clerical experience. Substitution of education for experience allowed. The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required:
* Skill in telephone etiquette and courteous communication with public, verbally and in writing.
* Skill in evaluating facts or situation to route calls/customers appropriately.
* Basic MS Office skills.
* Skill in the operation of a variety of office machines including, personal computers, telephones and copiers.
* Skill in filing and recordkeeping.
* Skill in English composition, grammar, spelling and punctuation.
* Skill in basic math.
* Knowledge of standard office policies and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree,
* One year of experience in a college/university setting ,
* Experience in data entry and ten key.
* Experience in PeopleSoft and Microsoft Office.
* Physical ability to lift boxes of supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
* Physical ability to sit for extended periods of time and access file cabinets including pulling, bending, standing and stooping.
* Availability to work extended hours during registration periods as required.
