Professional Research Assistant

This is a part-time position (48%) in which the PRA will be involved in conducting experiments using primary cells derived from normal and genetically modified mice.

Professional Field:

Hematology/Stem cell biology/Cancer

Examples of Work Performed:

The ideal candidate will need to maintain a mouse colony involving normal and immunocompromised strains of mice. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have experience with molecular biology techniques and cultures of primary hematopoietic cells. The work will focus on the development of novel biological assays to evaluate activity of novel proteins with therapeutic activity.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • The ideal candidate will have some basic computer skills such as word processing, email, and excel spreadsheets

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in biochemistry, cell biology, or other related field of study from an accredited college or university

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree or higher
  • 3 years of relevant laboratory experience
