Degree and Area of Specialization:
BS/BA degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, cellular biology, genetics, or related field required.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
At least 2 years experience in molecular cloning, RT-PCR, and DNA sequencing required. At least 1 year experience in molecular virology strongly preferred. At least 1 year experience in eukaryotic cell culture preferred. And at least 1 year experience in laboratory animal techniques preferred.
Candidate must also have excellent organizational and communication skills.
A position is available in Drs. Matthew Aliota and Thomas Friedrich's laboratories at the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine to study the evolutionary processes by which Zika virus adapts to new hosts.
Position may be extended beyond January, 2019 or changed to a renewable position depending on laboratory needs and available funding.
