Position Summary:

In fulfillment of the Wisconsin Idea, the mission of the Network is to build and distribute social capital by facilitating relationships among education researchers, leaders, teachers, and community members, so that they can, in turn, collaboratively transform education through research, policy development, classroom practice, and community engagement. Upon inception, The Network created the Network Fellows Program so that graduate students from the School of Education could engage in applied learning experiences by working as community-engaged scholars in government and professional offices in order to both inform future research and to bring current research to bear during the policy development process. These opportunities will provide hands-on experience in the field through which students share and develop their knowledge, as well as university research, access and contacts to inform policy through leadership and policy offices across the state.

This position will be responsible for building social capital intensive networks of professional relationships that connect the UW community with government leaders and the broader education community through the Network Fellows Program and other Network initiatives.
