Position Summary

The position will work directly with principal investigators to develop innovative concepts for submission to prospective funding agencies. Additionally, the position will utilize COS Pivot and Gov Win or comparable tools to identify grants and contract opportunities. The position reports to the Executive Director and collaborates with the Assistant Director but will function largely independently on a day-to-day basis.

Duties/Responsibilities

Duties include assisting principal investigators to clearly articulate ideas and concepts that may lead to unsolicited submissions (30%); reviewing grant and contract solicitations for clarity and relevance to institutional strategic goals (30%); assisting with the development of project budgets and justifications (20%); proofreading, editing and formatting proposals and applications in conformance with agency guidelines (20%).



Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Non-Profit Management, English, or related field.

Five years experience in a relevant profession, including academia, industry or government contracting.

Minimum of two years experience in development of contract cost proposals;

At least two years of experience using Microsoft Excel and Word;

Experience using Excel for tabular formatting and creating budgets with formulas.



Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Accounting, Non-Profit Management, English, or related field;

Experience providing cost-effective acquisition processes;

Effective contract negotiation and business development strategies;

Experience assessing operations or processes that lead to improvements in funding initiatives;

Ability to drive value-added service delivery.
