Responsibilities

Responsible for providing front line software support to law enforcement agency points of contact involving problem resolution and debugging. This will involve answering the main support line, responding to work orders entered by users or other staff members in an online issue tracker, and responding to emails.
Ensures that every point of contact with an agency is recorded in the online issue tracker. Solves complex problems that require a high level of knowledge and independent judgment. Will serve as a liaison between agency points of contacts and the system administrator, developers, and the systems architect. Is responsible for recommending internal IT policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or a combination of appropriate post high school education and experience equal to four years.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Must have the ability to obtain a Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) certification.
Experience with customer service, ticketing, and/or other customer support operations.
Experience providing technical support.

Preferred

Four years of experience working at a help desk.
Experience performing end user software support in person and/or remotely.
Experience using Bomgar remote support software, or other remote support software, to perform end user support remotely. Any kind of IT experience working with law enforcement.
Preference will be given to eligible persons with knowledge of law enforcement records management and/or national crime information center systems.
Preference will be given to individuals that have worked at a Law Enforcement Agency (LEA).

Pay Plan

This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.

Soft Money Funded Position

This position is time-limited based on soft money funding, with renewal contingent upon available funds and the needs of the University.

Schedule

If not otherwise specified, schedule is M-F, 8-5.

Criminal Background Check

This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check, to include fingerprinting.
