Responsibilities

Assists children crossing the street during shift.
Moves 15MPH zone and school crossing signs into and out of the street.
Utilizes proper hand signs as required.
Adheres to regulations and guidelines governing school crossings.
Ensures safety of pedestrians using assigned crossing walk.
Reports problems with students and traffic.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

A high school diploma or GED
Certified or become certified through Florida School Crossing Guard Training (no cost)
Must have good communication skills; be aware of physical surroundings with the ability to respond accordingly.
Sense of responsibility for the safety of the children.

Must be able to provide 3 professional references

Anticipated Salary Range

Hourly rate of $12.50/hour

This is an OPS/temporary Job.

Schedule

Part-time schedule
On-call with variable hours
Monday-Friday

Criminal Background Check

A level 2 fingerprint check is a condition of employment with the cost being the responsibility of the successful candidate. Re-certification is required at 5 year intervals (at the employee's expense).
