Reporting to the Executive Director for Advancement Services, The College of New Jersey is seeking a Coordinator for Reporting & Database Management.  This role will be primarily responsible for providing database management of the alumni, student and donor database - The Raiser’s Edge.  The incumbent will be the primary person providing development reporting and analysis in the areas of campaign counting and gift acceptance policies for TCNJ leadership and Development staff. The Coordinator the will oversee and manage the entire gift administration process and ensure data accuracy in preparation for the weekly post to the general ledger.

Additional Responsibilities Include:

  • Extract, clean and format data in preparation for the following reports - U.S. News, VSE and Foundation Annual Donor Honor Roll.

  • Develop and/or maintain monthly Crystal revenue report, Governing Board participation report and pledge payment balance reminder report.

  • Reconcile expenses between Raiser's Edge gifts and the College's financial reporting system.Address and report any inconsistencies with Staff Accountant and Advancement Services staff.

  • Maintain all donor files for accurate historical representation of existing relationships.

  • Proactively identify opportunities for systems and workflow improvements, recognize issues and provide recommended solutions.

  • Prepare all management and campaign reports for TCNJ leadership and Development staff.

  • Pull, update and code mailing lists for the semi-annual magazine distribution as well as direct mail and segmented Department and Group appeals.Request student, parent and employee data and prepare for import into Raiser's Edge.

  • Administer the fund transfer process from the Foundation to the College.

  • Train and update Raiser’s Edge users on new/updated software features and convene with Advancement staff to establish reporting needs for scheduled appeals, mailings and events.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum two years of experience in higher education or in a non-profit setting managing databases and developing financial reports is required.

  • High proficiency with CRM databases.Strong preference given to knowledge of or exposure to The Raiser’s Edge system.

  • Strong command of the English language in verbal and written communication; strong Computer Skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills.Meticulous attention to detail and ability to manage multi-phase projects through the entire project management cycle.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Intermediate level of understanding of IT - software implementation, integration and trouble shooting.

  • Prior experience with creating and formatting data in Crystal Reports or similar software.

  • Strong knowledge of FASB and CASE reporting standards; ability to create and format financial reports and interpret findings.

  • Experience preparing data for submission to U.S. News & World Report participation rankings and the Voluntary Support of Education (VSE) survey report.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor's degree in related field.Master's degree preferred.

  • Preference given to degrees in related fields such as Business (related disciplines), Computer Science, Library Science, etc.

This position has the state title of Professional Services Specialist 3. It is included for membership in the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) bargaining unit. The starting salary for this position is U21, $51,502.06. Salary is competitive and commensurate with education and experience.
