Assistant Professor of Sociology
St. Norbert College, a selective, nationally ranked, residential, liberal arts institution with a stable enrollment of 2100 students, invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor in Sociology beginning August 2018. Responsibilities include teaching three classes per semester, advising students, maintaining an active research agenda, and collegial service. We seek a candidate willing to contribute an engaging, project-based, foundational research methods course in a liberal art setting and a course on race, class, and gender; other course assignments will be based on departmental needs and the successful candidate's expertise, and will bring diversity to our current course offerings. Preference will be given to those with interest in mentoring undergraduates as they navigate independent and collaborative research projects. Commitment to excellence in teaching sociology and advising undergraduates in a liberal arts setting is essential.
While preference will be given to candidates who will have completed their Ph.D. by the time of employment, well-qualified ABD candidates are encouraged to apply.
