<p>Serve as Director of the Economic Development Center which includes both credit and non-credit classes. Coordinate with business/industry to identify and provide education and training needs relevant to their request. Provide leadership in the areas of community involvement, coordinate staff &amp; faculty professional development, advising coordinators for employment and training, workforce training, apprenticeship programs, and career pathways. The position is responsible for hiring and evaluating instructors, developing and scheduling classes, keeping student records and reporting information required by&nbsp;ASUcampuses and by the Department of Higher Education.</p> <p>Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:<br /> 1. Coordinates educational and training activities for business and industry.<br /> 2. Partners with business and industry and local Chambers of Commerce to identify and develop training needs.<br /> 3. Works collaboratively with academic deans to facilitate necessary training, and transition to credit bearing courses, advance workforce education, and establish prior learning assessment blueprints and offerings.<br /> 4. Provides oversight, evaluation, and delivery of training programs; implements state, federal, and private workforce related programs and grants.<br /> 5. Coordinates with other community colleges on consortium training efforts.<br /> 6. Supervise record keeping and monitor revenue collections, and executes budget development to include identification of resources which meet funding needs.<br /> 7. Conducts local needs surveys and focus groups to develop training needs for business and industry.<br /> 8. Coordinates with Human Resources in the hiring,evaluation, and development efforts for program instructors and staff.<br /> 9. Attend community functions and is involved in local and area community activities and organizations as a representative of&nbsp;ASU.<br /> 10. Seeks new partnerships, programs, and grant funding for training opportunities. Negotiates contracts, memorandums of understanding, and agreements between partners.<br /> 11. Represents&nbsp;ASU&nbsp;Beebe and other campuses at meetings, functions, and activities as appropriate.<br /> 12. Provides information and makes presentations to supervisors, boards, commissions, civic groups, businesses, individuals, and the general public on economic development issues, programs, services, and plans.<br /> 13. Provides assistance in the development of short and long term economic and community development plans, as well as gathering of information and preparation of studies, reports, and recommendations to achieve goals.<br /> 14. Monitors legislation and regulations relating to economic development.<br /> 15. Attends meetings and professional development workshops and conferences to keep abreast of trends and developments in the field of economic development.<br /> 16. Collaborates with marketing and public relations to develop and implement workforce program awareness and marketing.<br /> 17. Develops a departmental operational plan which aligns to the college’s strategic goals and includes performance measures, comprehensive course offering, cost analysis (profit and loss statements), budget and grant development, and annual priorities.<br /> 18. Serves on various internal and external committees, councils or tasks forces.</p> <p>Bachelor’s degree (B.B.A., B.B.E., B.I.B., etc.) with three years related experience or training and 2 years related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.</p> <p>Graduate degree (M.B.A., M.A., M.Ed., etc.) plus 5 years related experience and/or training, and 2 years related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.</p>
