Instructor of Computer Systems Networking Technology
The Computer Systems and Networking Technology (CSNT) department is looking for a faculty member for a nine (9) month position. We are searching for an individual with a positive attitude, a drive to help students succeed, and the ability to stay on top of new technologies. This contract will begin August 15, 2017 and extend through May 15, 2018. The selected faculty member will be able to teach all phases of the CSNT program, advise students as needed, assist in developing new curriculum, and complete other duties as assigned. Courses include, but are not limited to, Computer Coding, Computer Forensics, Cisco, Linux, Microsoft, VMware, Security, and other material. Teaching is done during the day, some evenings, online, or possibly some weekends. Although CSNT classes are currently only taught on the ASU-Beebe campus, one or more of our courses may need to be taught on one of our other three campuses in the future. This position reports to the Dean of Career Education.
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent experience resulting in broad knowledge of computer networking, plus two years of related experience and/or training.
A master’s degree in a related field preferred. Industry certifications such as Microsoft, Cisco, Oracle, CompTIA preferred. Proficiency with structured, web, and/or object-oriented programming languages such as Python preferred. Experience in networking, file servers, operating systems, computer forensic software (FTK), application development, such as database (Oracle) strongly desired. Certifications such as the CCNA, CompTIA A+/Security+/Linux+, Microsoft Server certifications, VMware VCP, or other industry standard certifications are a plus.
