DIRECTOR, GRAPHIC DESIGN
Duties: Reporting to the Executive Director of Communications, the Director, Graphic Design plays a critical role in strengthening the coherence of the School's brand by leading the design of its major print publications as well as website design for all the School's academic departments, centers, and programs. The Director is responsible for providing artistic direction and ensuring the quality and appeal of all print and electronic communications developed by the Office of Advancement. The Director works closely with a broad range of clients including fundraising staff, faculty, and administrative staff, and collaborates closely with a communications team including writing, events, and web development staff. The Director will produce and oversee a broad range of materials including brochures, the School's alumni magazine and annual report, event promotional materials, and customized proposals. The Director will supervise a junior graphic designer and will be responsible for seeing that all projects are completed on time and within established budgets.
Qualifications: Creative, high-energy individual with exceptional design skills. Bachelor's degree or equivalent formal training and 5 to 7 years of experience in graphic design required. Strong skills with Adobe Suite software including InDesign and Photoshop and familiarity with web user interface design essential. Familiarity with project management tools and processes a plus. Candidates must be able to interact effectively and professionally with a wide range of people including faculty, administrative and professional staff, and students. Strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities are essential. Intellectual curiosity, flexibility, and an interest in learning new things will be important to success in this position. Successful candidates must be highly organized, with a proven ability to balance multiple concurrent priorities and work effectively in a large, complex institutional setting.
