The Department of Materials Science and Engineering in the School of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Virginia seeks qualified candidates for a Research Associate in the area of functional oxide thin films. The successful candidate will synthesize complex oxide thin films and multilayer structures via PVD methods and be responsible for characterization, analysis, and design strategies to optimize the functionalities.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in processing and characterization of complex oxide thin films, particularly with focus in strongly correlated oxides. Experience working with photolithography and electron beam lithography is preferred.
Candidates must have a PhD in Materials Science or a related discipline along with evidence of proficient written and oral English language skills to interact with various sponsors.
