Job Description: To direct Strategic Initiatives for the Division of Research, Economic Development and Engagement (REDE). Reporting directly to the Vice Chancellor of REDE, this position will develop, oversee and help implement programs and projects that support REDE's vision and short and long term plans to grow the research enterprise across the University. The Director will be required to work closely with university leadership, faculty and staff across the university as well as representatives from industry and regional governments

Minimum Qualifications: Requires a Doctor of Philosophy degree in a natural or physical science. Must have a research background in renewable energy, value-added Agriculture such as Bio-based sectors or coastal natural resources. Strong communication skills (written and verbal) are necessary. Demonstration of working in both the private sector (industry) and academic institutions is required. Experience of leading projects with diverse stakeholders on research projects is required. Candidate will have a record of academic peer-review journal research articles which demonstrates a first hand knowledge of faculty level research. Must be proficient in excel, MS Word, PowerPoint and have a background with Implan and LCA modeling software as well as Tableau.
