Job Description: The Pirate Academic Success Center at East Carolina University provides academic support services for undergraduate students. The primary goals of the center are to provide comprehensive academic services including tutoring, study skills workshops, academic coaching by professional staff, the administration and support of learning communities such as FIP Scholars, and peer academic mentoring for freshman and at risk students. Historically, the center has served 25% of the undergraduate enrolled at ECU and provides services in both face to face and digital formats. This position is assigned to the Pirate Academic Success Center which is part of the Undergraduate Studies unit in Academic Affairs. The Assistant Director of the Pirate Academic Success Center will report directly to the Director of the Pirate Academic Success Center. Key Responsibilities: 1) Assist director and other managerial staff with PASC activities. 2) Hire, train, and supervise student staff. 3) Work with director to sustain and grow programs and services. 4) Assist director in managing administrative functions to ensure smooth and efficient operations of the PASC. 5) Work in collaboration with faculty and other administrators to meet student tutorial and academic support needs. 6) Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures. 7) Represent the PASC to the public, key stakeholders, and campus organizations. 8) Assist in PASC operations in the absence of director. 9) Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: The Assistant Director must possess a graduate degree in a closely related discipline (examples include but are not limited to: counseling, adult education, educational leadership, public administration, psychology, or higher education administration) from an appropriately accredited institution. The Assistant Director must have a minimum of three years experience in academic support or tutoring services and program development in an institution of higher education. Strong interpersonal, analytical, organizational, and customer-service skills are required.
