Summary of Job Duties
The Assistant Director of Graduate Fellowships and Student Support will assist in providing student support to aid in the recruitment, retention, and professional development of graduate students at the University of Arkansas. Activities may include researching professional development needs on campus and the resources required to meet those needs, performing outreach activities within the university community and with external partners across the country, and marketing and delivering professional development to student groups. Part of student support includes financial support. The person in this position will be expected to learn about the current financial support offered through the Graduate School and International Education, and to assist in identifying and informing graduate students of additional funding opportunities.
This position will evolve to meet the changing needs of students and to meet the mission of the Graduate School and International Education. Travel (by air, auto, etc.) is a required component of the position, as is the ability to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
Regular, reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

- Master's degree from an accredited institution
- Experience in program development and implementation
- Experience working with various constituent groups
- Experience working with CRM (customer relationship management) software, such as Salesforce/Pardot, etc.

- Experience preparing print and electronic communications for event promotion, marketing, or similar needs, including designing and writing content of materials

- Some knowledge/experience of web site maintenance
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
- Demonstrated proficient skills in written and oral communications
- Possess advanced verbal and written communication skills and be able to confidently represent the university in a professional manner
- Possess a high degree of professional flexibility with a demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently
- Skill in speaking to others to convey information effectively
- Skill in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
- Skill and proficiency in using Microsoft Office suites is required
- Ability to positively engage with a wide variety of constituent groups
- Ability to be comfortable with some ambiguity between departments, processes, and policies will be helpful for successful acclimation into the position
- Ability to be creative and energetic with a high level of initiative
- Ability to work with diverse groups, multi-task and have a true commitment to teamwork
- Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure
- Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships
