This position is with the University Libraries at Dirac Science Library.
This position provides support for multimedia and technology in the STEM Libraries within Public Services division of University Libraries.
Provides customer service for library patrons by providing research, circulation and informational assistance at the Service Desk and via Virtual Reference. Provides one-on-one instruction with library users on the use of the libraries catalog, the online databases and resources, and traditional print resources.
Works closely with the Supervisor of Dirac to manage multimedia services and to provide technology support at Dirac service desk. Assists with training and supervising student assistants.
Coordinates library textbook reserves. Manages study rooms to include updating and posting policy changes, managing keys and maintaining equipment. Works closely with library Systems department to troubleshoot equipment issues.
Participates in Dirac and/or Library promotional activities in order to support the Library. Assists with program development and marketing of library services. Performs other duties as assigned.
High school diploma/equivalent and two years of experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to two years.
Experience in a customer service setting.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Experience performing accurately in a detail oriented environment.
Experience prioritizing, organizing and performing multiple work assignments simultaneously.
Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word.
Knowledge of the concepts, principles, and practices of data collection.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Knowledge of the policies and practices of library services.
Familiarity with Adobe suite, and scientific, statistics and/or analytical packages such as MatLab, Maple, SAS, and/or R is preferred
Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations.
Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices.
Anticipated Salary Range
This is an USPS (University Support Personnel System) position.
