Chemeketa Community College welcomes applications for a full-time Welding Instructor.

Position Summary

Chemeketa Community College in Salem, Oregon, seeks energetic and teaching-focused candidates for one full-time, 180-day Welding Instructor position within the Applied Technologies Department starting in September 2017.

Chemeketa serves a large, diverse three-county area through its central campus in Salem, a network of satellite campuses and centers, and by being a statewide leader in online education. Centrally located in Oregon's Willamette Valley, Salem, the state capitol, is very close to mountains, beaches, national and state parks, small towns, and the city of Portland.

This teaching assignment may include the use of non-traditional delivery methodologies such as online/internet courses. Duty days may fluctuate from the traditional September - June schedule.

Terms of Employment:

This is a 100 percent, 180-day academic position. Recently hired faculty are expected to participate in a new faculty orientation program.

This assignment is subject to budget approval.

Requires the provision of official transcripts upon hire.

Upon hire, must pass security inquiry which may include criminal and/or driving history; only information relevant to the position will be considered.

Requires flexible work schedule to meet program needs, which may include evenings and/or weekends.

Requires use of personal vehicle to travel between various locations.

Upon hire, must successfully complete a physical agility and fitness test.

$47,612.00 - $78,142.00 Annually


High School diploma or GED


Five years of successful occupational experience in welding or welding related field


One year of college level course work (minimum of 45 credit hours) in welding or welding related courses.
