Under the direction of the Associate Vice President of Administration, the Director, Purchasing leads and executes the campus strategic sourcing plan and is responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the Purchasing Department. The Director establishes departmental goals, standards, and benchmarks while developing policies and procedures in accordance with state and federal procurement regulations and university policies.  The successful candidate promotes professionalism, productivity, transparency, cost-effective solutions and leverages technology as well as procurement best practices in the delivery of services, contracts and goods needed to support the University’s educational mission.

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required. MBA or other relevant advanced degree preferred. Must possess seven (7) years of relevant professional experience, two (2) of which shall have included supervisory experience.  Selected candidate must possess strong critical thinking, analytical, leadership and management skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential in addition to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Preferred qualifications include experience in higher education and/or New Jersey public sector, knowledge of Ellucian Banner, and relevant nationally recognized professional purchasing certification.
