Computer Systems Lab Coordinator
The Department of Computer Science invites applications for a full time Computer Systems Lab
Coordinator. We seek a candidate capable of collaborating with faculty and students to manage and maintain a cohesive open - source computing environment in support of the department’s academic and research missions. This includes support of computing infrastructure to keep pace with current technology, teaching lab sections in coordination with faculty members, and collaborating with faculty to implement academic lab activities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for software maintenance of a heterogeneous CPU/GPU virtualized computer cluster, as well as evolving the design of the cluster to keep up with the current cluster technology.
· Candidate with a Master’s degree in computer science (or a related field), but equivalent time in industry or academia will also be considered
· Preferred skills include:
o 2+ years Linux sysadmin experience;
o Experience with open - source technologies;
o Shell scripting exposure; and
o Familiarity/competence with either Java or C++.
· Experience working with undergraduates in an academic setting is also an advantage
