Position Summary: This is a professional position based in the North Carolina Institute for Public Health (NCIPH). NCIPH is the service and outreach arm of the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health with a mission of putting public health in action by delivering training, conducting research, and providing technical assistance to transform the practice of public health for all. The individual in this position will work within the Technical Assistance Unit and be responsible for providing robust project management for a number of technical assistance projects with a broad range of activities/subject matters. The individual will be responsible for independent work as well as working with teams, at times leading teams. The individual in this position is required to interact with public health professionals from a wide range of service sectors, including local and state government. Specifically, this position will serve as the NC Local Health Department Accreditation (NCLHDA) Coordinator, collaborating with the NCLHDA Accreditation Administrator by leading projects as well as assuring smooth day-to-day-operations. Additionally, this position will provide overall project management for team-based technical assistance projects and, at times, provide technical assistance on certain projects (type of assistance dependent on individual skills in areas such as writing/editing, qualitative data, etc.).

Education Requirements: Master's degree in public health or related discipline
Qualification and Experience: Strong preference for Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and significant experience with using project management software. Prefer at least eight years' experience in a professional capacity for a state, local, or national public health agency and training in a public health specialty. Prefer in-depth expertise in one or more areas of community health assessment, health impact assessment, community health improvement planning, resource/asset mapping, qualitative data collection and analysis, and accreditation programs. A successful candidate will have excellent project management skills, be detail oriented, have a proven ability to work both independently and with a team, be able to manage small budgets, and be able to successfully manage relationships with funding organizations. Occasional travel is required.
