University Counseling Center
Provides direct individual, couples and group counseling to University students. Provide walk-in emergency assessments, crisis intervention, and intakes for students; provides clinical consultations to family members and campus community constituents. Complete intake summaries, emergency assessments, progress notes, and termination summaries according to established policies and procedures. Participates on UCC and University committees; provides outreach presentations to the University community. Assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the Director or Associate Director. Provides clinical supervision of pre-masters interns; may conduct presentations in training seminars.
This position requires a related Master's Degree in a mental health field (e.g. social work, counseling, psychology, marriage & family therapy, or other mental health related field) from an accredited college or university, and five years of experience. Licensed or license-eligible in the State of Florida (Chapter 491, F.S.) to provide direct mental health counseling. If license-eligible, must be licensed within one year of employment. Experience in solving problems, dealing with crises, and managing sensitive information. Experience and/or knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures related to psychological counseling and assessment. Customer service experience, and the ability to interact with diverse populations

The Florida State University Counseling Center (UCC) is seeking a strong licensed counseling generalist to join our dynamic multidisciplinary team. The preferred candidate will be well rounded, enthusiastic, and skilled in providing time-limited individual counseling, group psychotherapy, outreach consultation and crisis intervention. Experience working in a university counseling center and demonstrated ability to work with college students from diverse backgrounds is preferred.
Anticipated Salary Range
The University Counseling Center will hire selected candidate at a salary commiserate with education and experience
This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.
Criminal Background Check
This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check, to include fingerprinting.
