Computer Support Analyst

The Computer Support Analyst is responsible for a wide range of activities related to computer support such as the maintenance and utilization of microcomputer and mainframe systems. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Build and maintain uStore and uPay sites for departments, including verifying that general ledger information is correct, training departmental users, building reports and testing sites to ensure they meet the needs of departments.
Monitor software performance, adjustments and upgrades.
Assist in establishing policies and guidelines for the Jonesboro campus.
Interact in a courteous and professional manner with students, faculty, and staff.
Other duties as assigned or requested.
Knowledge of the limitations and use of mainframe and microcomputer hardware and software.
Ability to analyze computer system problems or errors and devise corrective measures, write moderately complex applications to fulfill requirements or select appropriate off-the-shelf software and modify to suit the agency or institution, read and interpret technical literature and evaluate product acceptability and/or quality, manage disk space for micro, mini, or personal computer systems to ensure effective utilization of data, space, and equipment, and code, test, and debug computer programs and write program documentation.
8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Availability for after hours and weekends may be required.
Experience working in a college or university setting preferred, and with website and HTML code preferred but not required.
Communication or business degrees will also be considered.
The formal education equivalent of a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
One (1) year of experience in Computer Support OR completion of technical training in Computer Science, Data Processing, or a related field acquired from a vocational, military, or industrial setting, plus three (3) years of experience in computer support.
Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management.
Other job related Education and/or Experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements, except for certification or licensure requirements, upon approval or the qualifications review committee.
