Position Summary: The Office of Curricular and Student Affairs offers comprehensive services to help ensure the success of students in the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy as they matriculate through the professional (PharmD) and graduate programs. The mission of the Office of Curricular and Student Affairs is to maximize students' professional growth and leadership potential by offering grounded and intentional services, opportunities, and experiences that engage students and foster their learning and holistic development. The Office of Curricular and Student Affairs complements the School's academic mission by providing consistent, holistic, student-centered services from recruitment through commencement. This support fosters development of professional and graduate students through targeted advising, mentoring, and career/professional development programs. The Office of Curricular and Student Affairs is an extension of the Office of Professional Education. It is comprised of 11 student affairs professionals, each with specified areas of responsibility including enrollment and registration management, advising, student recruitment and admissions, student involvement, and management of experiential education (clerkships/rotations). The Office functions as a cohesive unit where teamwork, collaboration, and innovation are encouraged and celebrated. The Assistant Director of Curricular and Student Affairs with a focus on Recruitment and Admissions leads the overall recruitment and admissions initiatives for the PharmD program and leads the graduate program admissions process. As such, the position's principal functions include overseeing/leading the recruitment efforts of the PharmD program, making residency decisions for tuition purposes, overseeing/leading a seamless PharmD and graduate admissions program (including supervising admissions staff), maintaining/managing/making meaning of recruitment and admissions data that is easily retrievable and accurate, and serving as the School's primary admissions contact by advising prospective students and liaising with other University departments as needed.The Assistant Director reports to the Director of the Office of Curricular and Student Affairs.

Education Requirements: A post-Baccalaureate degree in higher education or a related field is required; for candidates demonstrating comparable independent educational or instructional activities associated with the delivery and/or management of student support functions, will accept a relevant undergraduate degree and at least three years of related professional experience in higher education.

Qualification and Experience: At least three years' work experience in admissions and/or recruitment within higher education, experience supervising staff, and experience advising and counseling students is required. Five years' work experience is preferred. Other position requirements include: superior interpersonal skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities and deadlines; ability to collaborate with a wide variety of constituents; ability to solve complex problems in a timely manner; ability to gather, synthesize, and interpret data for reporting purposes; a proven ability to manage programs, including planning, resource allocation, budget allocation and supervision; and a commitment to excellence.
