Kipnis Lab at the University of Virginia seeks a Research Scientist to join its busy group. The successful candidate must have at PhD and at least 4-5 years of postdoctoral experience in a related field with a demonstrated publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
This position will concentrate on the project dealing with the role of meningeal lymphatics and myeloid cell and their impact on CNS function. A strong genetic and molecular biology background will be necessary to successfully drive this project. The required skills include confocal microscopy, 2-photon live imaging, cell culture, cellular and molecular biology, and genetics.
The candidate will also be responsible for training graduate and undergraduate students as well as assisting research associates with their individual projects. The successful candidate will design his/her own projects in conjunction with the PI as the basis for obtaining their own grant funding.
