Posting Summary:
The McIntire Student Services and Academic Operations Office (SSAO) serves to encourage, empower, and support undergraduate and graduate students toward the successful completion of academic and co-curricular programs. Within SSAO, the Student Life team is responsible for designing and delivering student onboarding and orientation resources and programs, facilitating community-building programming, supporting Commerce-related student organizations and governing councils (Undergraduate and Graduate Commerce Councils), and collaborating with faculty in providing exceptional support to our undergraduate and graduate student communities.

Student Life is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and professional Assistant Director of Student Life (ADSL) to work collaboratively on the successful implementation of Student Life functions and educational services. In particular, the ADSL will coordinate graduate program management, graduate student onboarding coordination, providing support and structure to the Graduate Commerce Council, and engaging students and McIntire community members through thoughtful communications and programming.

The successful candidate will have a successful record of advising students, collaborating with faculty, a commitment to diversity, as well as an understanding of and respect for the University of Virginia's tradition of student self-governance. In addition, candidates should demonstrate excellent organizational skills, outstanding customer service, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented, and entrepreneurial environment. Creativity, strong written and oral communication skills, and technology proficiency are essential. Flexibility to work occasional evenings and/or weekends as dictated by program schedules and student needs is preferred.

International travel opportunities with the M.S. in Commerce Global Immersion Experience or one of McIntire's short-term study abroad programs may be available to staff members on an optional basis.
