The Department of Surgery at the University of Virginia seeks candidates for a tenure-eligible Assistant or Associate Professor of Vascular & Endovascular Surgery faculty position. The incumbent is responsible for clinical care of the vascular surgical patient population and for participation in student and postgraduate teaching. Opportunities for clinical or laboratory research are also available. The selected candidate will further scholarly achievements with the goal of promotion within the School of Medicine and the University.

Candidates must have a MD, have completed a residency in general surgery and have completed, or be currently completing, a vascular fellowship or residency. Candidates must be board-eligible or board-certified in vascular surgery and have expertise in the care of vascular patients. Interested individuals must possess a strong interest in a career in academic medicine as demonstrated through past experience with research or teaching pursuits and a prepared proposal for an academic career path.

The University of Virginia Health System is a State, Level I Trauma Center. We care for patients with the full spectrum of vascular disease. Our practice focuses on complex vascular surgery, including open and endovascular management of difficult aortic cases. Outstanding endovascular skills are required. Eligibility for RVPI is required as we manage multiple Peripheral Vascular Laboratories. The University of Virginia has an excellent ACGME accredited General Surgery Residency Program with a strong national reputation.
