Summary of Position:
Watson College of Education (WCE) seeks a Recruitment Specialist to formulate, direct, and evaluate a college-wide student recruitment plan for undergraduate and graduate programs within the WCE and WCE extension programs. The Recruitment Specialist will lead strategic initiatives to recruit students to WCE programs, particularly students from diverse and underrepresented populations.
The candidate should be familiar with the funnel approach to recruitment and be able to collect and analyze data to direct the recruitment process.
The Recruitment Specialist will identify touchpoints to increase enrollment and coordinate involvement of faculty, students, and alumnae in various recruitment events. The specialist will be responsible for coordinating student organizations as partners in recruitment efforts. Excellent communication skills are required as the specialist will also work directly with potential students and their families, and will represent WCE at events internal and external to the university.
The specialist will work with a wide variety of constituents including undergraduate and graduate program coordinators, advisors, alumnae, the communications and marketing specialist, the webmaster, and campus offices such as the Graduate School, Office of Undergraduate Admissions, and the Professional Development System community. The position reports to the Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs.
Master’s degree required
The candidate should be comfortable working both collaboratively and independently with minimal guidance

Primary Function of Organizational Unit:
Watson’s Office of Academic and Student Affairs serves undergraduate and graduate students in all matters related to degree (and/or licensure) requirements and progress toward completion. Among other matters, the office supports students in advising, admission to the Watson College, student records, graduation clearing, registration, scholarships and student leadership opportunities. Watson’s Office of Academic and Student Affairs’ goal is to provide comprehensive, accurate information to help students achieve their educational goals.
The Watson College of Education (WCE) (www.uncw.edu/ed) is a growing college with over 60 tenure-track faculty members working in undergraduate and master’s programs in the Department of Early Childhood, Elementary, Middle, Literacy and Special Education and the Department of Instructional Technology, Foundations and Secondary Education, and master’s and doctoral programs in the Department of Educational Leadership.
