The Medical College of Georgia is commencing a national search for Director of the Georgia Cancer Center at Augusta University. With a brand new facility to bridge research and clinical missions, the University is committed to growth and seeks a renowned physician or scientist to lead the progress towards NCI designation. This collaborative leader will report to the Dean of the Medical College and will be responsible for all educational, clinical, and research missions of the Center. Guided by the Center’s Care Family Model, the Director will lead efforts in building cross-disciplinary research programs, developing cancer faculty, and establishing a regional foothold for oncologic services. This visionary leader will cultivate relationships locally, statewide, nationally, and internationally.

Candidates must hold an MD, PhD, combination, and/or equivalent and must be eligible for faculty appointment at the full Professor level.  A sustained record of academic and research accomplishments, including significant leadership and managerial experience within an academic Cancer Center, and a national and/or international reputation in Oncology is required. A track record of sustained extramural NCI funding is desirable.
