Reporting to the Dean of the School of Transitional Studies (STS), the Director of Testing acts as the administrator for the college's student assessment program, which includes placement testing, institutional testing, system-wide, state, and national testing programs.
- Oversight, development, and leadership for the college's student assessment program, which includes, but is not limited to:
- placement testing, such as ACCUPLACER
- institutional testing, such as world language placement tests
- state and system-wide testing, such as independent study exam proctoring, GACE, and eCore
- national testing programs, such as CLEP, SAT, ACT, MAT, ATI TEAS, and TOEFL
- ?Developing, oversight, and monitoring the testing budget
- Setting standard testing protocol to ensure test security and fairness to all student
- Representing Testing Services, School of Transitional Studies, and the college, on campus committees and in the wider community
- Training test administrators and proctors
- Hiring and supervising the Testing Center staff
- Performs other duties, as assigned
COMPENSATION: Commensurate with education and experience, with excellent benefits.
Minimum and Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree from an accredited university in Counseling, Student Personnel Administration, Educational Psychology, Educational Assessment, or a related field.
- A minimum of six years of experience in testing administration in higher education.
- Experience in data analysis, reporting, and strategic planning activities.
- Doctorate (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) from an accredited university in Counseling, Student Personnel Administration, Educational Psychology, Educational Assessment, or a related field.
- Proficiency with Banner or comparable technology and working knowledge of latest developments in testing software.
- Knowledge of national and emerging best practices in testing.
- Participation and/or publication through professional higher education organizations.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- A proven record of successfully managing a robust college testing program.
- The ability to work well with and lead an innovative, diverse team.
