Job Description: The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Missouri - School of Medicine is seeking applicants for a full-time trauma position that can be clinical or tenure track position. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience. The primary location of service will be in Springfield, MO at the new CoxHealth Emergency and Trauma Center.
This position represents for a unique Orthopaedic Trauma opportunity that combines private and academic practice. The faculty member will work at the new CoxHealth Emergency and Trauma Center, in addition to their other facility in vicinity while having a full appointment at the University Of Missouri Department Of Orthopaedic Surgery. The new Center is one of the largest Emergency departments in Missouri and offers some of the nation's most advanced imaging technology, an on-site lab and state-of-the art disaster management facilities.
Springfield is the third largest city in Missouri and is a short distance from several major metropolitan areas including St. Louis, Kansas City and Tulsa. Its economy is based on healthcare, manufacturing, retail, education and tourism. All applicants must have completed fellowship training and be Board Certified or Board Eligible. Excellence in patient care and resident teaching is expected.
