The Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Missouri in Columbia invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Candidates must have a PhD, DVM and/or MD degree and suitable postdoctoral training. We seek candidates with existing extramural grant support who will complement and enhance existing research in retinal and neural degenerative diseases, lens biochemistry, ocular complications of diabetes, and developmental biology of the visual system. Applicants working on research in ocular complications of glaucoma, and corneal or conjunctival disease will also be considered. Applications are especially encouraged from those who employ stem cell transplantation, gene therapy, molecular genetics, or immunological techniques. The successful applicant will also contribute to teaching activities in an area related to his/her expertise. This position provides start-up funds and significant hard dollar support through the University’s Mission Enhancement Program.
