Job Description Summary:
GW’s Department of Microbiology, Immunology, and Tropical Medicine (MITM) conducts innovative, fundamental, basic and translational research for HIV/AIDS and neglected conducts innovative, fundamental, basic and translational research for HIV/AIDS and neglected tropical diseases. MITM has a strong tradition of training and policy advocacy for these infectious and parasitic diseases, which initiate and perpetuate poverty and suffering worldwide. MITM is searching for a full-time Post Doctoral Scientist for Dr. Bosque’s laboratory. Dr. Bosque’s main interest is to characterize signaling pathways leading towards new HIV eradication strategies https://smhs.gwu.edu/bosque-pardos-lab/
The Post Doctoral Scientist will work in understanding how benzotriazoles and benzotriazines reactivate latent HIV at the molecular level and how these compounds modify SUMOylation of STAT proteins. The successful candidate will independently carry out activities performing laboratory research. Specific duties include:- Guides research projects through experimental work.
- Maintains detailed documentation of experimental work.
- Presentsdata within and outside of the laboratory group at meetings and symposia.
- Maintains close communications with PI regarding progress.
- Writes, edits, and submits manuscripts/abstracts detailing the results of the project.
-Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
