Duties: The Assistant Director of Admissions will be an experienced admissions professional responsible for leading projects and/or processes to support the work of Penn Admissions. The Assistant Director will also be charged with recruiting, evaluating, selecting, and yielding freshman and transfer candidates to Penn's four undergraduate schools: the College of Arts and Sciences, Penn Engineering, Penn Nursing and The Wharton School. The Assistant Director will be responsible for the management of a geographic territory, including building relationships with school educators and administrators and engaging with students and families to attract appropriate applicants from the region. The Assistant Director will organize and implement recruitment programs and will serve as a featured public speaker in a range of forums with prospective students, parents, secondary school counselors and Penn alumni. The Assistant Director will have the responsibility to work as part of a team to achieve the goals of the University of Pennsylvania in enrolling highly-qualified, diverse and intellectually-passionate students.

Qualifications: A bachelor's degree is required, a master's degree is preferred. The successful applicant for the Assistant Director position will have at least 1-3 years of progressively responsible experience in admissions, higher education or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidate will have demonstrated project management skills and the ability to prioritize projects in a high-volume and timeline-driven process. Familiarity with highly-selective college admissions, recruitment, and the evaluation and selection of college applicants in a highly-selective environment are strongly preferred. Strong communication, public speaking and interpersonal skills required. Familiarity with the University of Pennsylvania undergraduate experience is preferred. The job requires a valid driver's license and the ability to work evenings and weekends.
