Position Summary:

The Groundskeeper I/II is responsible for performing all tasks related to maintaining the campus grounds, roads and parking lots. This includes but is not limited to trash collection from the campus grounds/parking lots, seasonal landscaping and snow removal. In addition, the position is required assist Event Services with the set up/breakdown of room arrangements, assembly of furniture/staging and relocation of equipment. This position is designated as Essential Personnel. The incumbent is required to assist in meeting the operational needs of the College during emergencies and college closures, as well as, ensure continuity of strategic services.

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

One year of commercial experience or demonstrated basic knowledge in the operation and maintenance of commercial groundskeeping equipment.

Ability to work safely and reliably with minimum of supervision.

Demonstrated ability to work under the following conditions and meet the following physical requirements:

Ability to push, pull, lift and carry up to 50 lbs. throughout an 8 hour shift.

Ability to work outdoors in varied weather condition, such as heat, cold, rain, snow and slippery conditions.

Ability to work on uneven surfaces.

Ability to utilize lifts, ladders and/or scaffolding to work at elevated heights.

Possess a valid driver's license and good driving record as determined by college policy.

Proven record of attendance and reliability.



Preferred Qualifications:

Proficient oral, written and electronic communication skills.

Ability to interact professionally and effectively with students, faculty staff and the public

Ability to interact with a variety of faculty, staff and students from diverse backgrounds
