The Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation has an opening for a full-time, University Staff (unclassified) Research Services Coordinator (Research Services Professional) position.

Job Summary:
Jobs in this career family provide direct professional support of research activities. Functions include contracts and grants solicitation and administration, grant/agreement preparation, review and negotiation, regulatory compliance, sponsor communication and post and pre award management, human subject compliance, research animal management, research laboratory coordination and instruction, environmental health and safety, radiation control, hazardous materials use, disposal and training.

Professionals at the entry level are responsible for exercising discretion, analytical skill, personal accountability and responsibility in a wide range of areas including academic, administrative, and managerial and student services functions. Work involves creating, integrating, applying and sharing knowledge directly related to a professional field.

At the entry level, duties are limited in scope, are performed with guidance and direction from other professionals, and are performed in a training and development capacity.

Position Emphasis:

This Research Services Coordinator participates in the daily financial support of the department's research program and works closely with research administrators to support implementation of research program operations. Duties may include implementation of sponsored project and financial procedures, facilitation of research-related communications, coordination of research portfolio meetings, entry and/or calculation of research metrics, research purchase order management, payroll expense transfers as relate to research faculty/personnel, research study gift card program management and purchasing, and other duties as assigned.

Salary and Benefits:

The hiring salary for this position is commensurate with skills and experience. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited institution.

Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a University or higher education setting.
  • Experience working with CU Systems such as Concur and CU Marketplace.
  • Experience with research grants, operations and administration.
  • Experience calculating research metrics and processing research purchase orders.
