Under the supervision of the Director of Undergraduate Admissions Recruitment, the Senior Associate Director of Admissions for International Recruitment will collaborate with the Director to plan, design, implement, and execute a comprehensive international recruitment strategy as part of a national and international recruitment and enrollment plan. This position includes the direct supervision of professional staff engaged in recruitment and application evaluation, and support staff as necessary. The Sr. Associate Director will add expertise about application evaluation for international students and domestic students attending school outside of the United States. S/he will provide appropriate training and staff development and support to the staff involved in recruitment, customer service, and application evaluation for international students. The position serves as a liaison with the other university offices engaged in international initiatives and represents the Admissions Office on campus-wide committees.
The Senior Associate Director also serves as a territory manager, maintaining an international recruitment territory throughout the course of the year. The Senior Associate Director will present nationally and internationally on behalf of the University and will establish, develop and maintain relationships with secondary school counselors while marketing the University effectively.
Overall, the incumbent will be engaged in data-driven, long-term planning and evaluation, as well as resource assessment and management. The Senior Associate Director serves on the office management team and assists in developing and implementing office policies and procedures. The position also actively contributes to the office welfare by working collaboratively with managers in the unit to achieve institutional enrollment goals. The Senior Associate Director will actively contribute to the office environment of collaboration and encouragement of staff to take on responsibility as well as support staff in the generation of new and innovative ideas.
•Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
•7 to 10 years of progressively responsible experience in college admission, preferably at a highly selective institution, with a demonstrated focus on international recruitment
•Prior supervision experience with professional staff.
•Exceptional collaboration skills. Strong supervisory, interpersonal and leadership skills. Ability to encourage innovative thinking in staff.
•Ability to interpret enrollment research and make relevant application to strategic planning.
•Excellent communication and presentation skills, preference given to candidates with extensive/documented presentations at national and/or international conferences.
•A thorough understanding of the international new student recruitment process. Experience working with diverse populations.
•Demonstrated understanding of admissions technical systems.
•Must be highly organized and detail oriented. Customer service driven.
