Residential & Dining Enterprises (R&DE), the largest auxiliary organization at Stanford University, supports the academic mission of the University by providing the highest quality services to students and other members of the university community. The Department has an annual operating budget of over $270 million, oversees a 5 million sq. ft. physical plant across the campus, and provides housing for over 13,000 students and dependents, serves over 18,000 daily meals at 30 dining and retail locations and over 300,000 meals at Athletic Concessions events, and hosts 20,000 conference guests annually. Additionally, R&DE comprises 735 FTE staff in the following divisions: the Office of the Senior Associate Vice Provost, Student Housing, Stanford Dining, Stanford Hospitality & Auxiliaries, Stanford Conferences, and a team of R&DE strategic business partners: Finance & Administration, Human Resources, Information Technology and Communications.

JOB PURPOSE Prepare, negotiate and administer multiple, complex, high level foodservice purchase orders and contracts for R&DE foodservice operations.

CORE DUTIES * -- Identify potential foodservice vendors, prepare and evaluate Requests for Proposals (RFPs), conduct site visits, and negotiate with vendors.

-- Administer high level purchase orders and contracts, monitor and ensure vendor performance for cost, schedule, product quality, compliance, and adherence to all contractual terms and conditions.

-- Lead and/or contribute to foodservice related projects and initiatives, identifying potential sources of supply, performing needs analysis, preparing project plans and timelines, forecasting product and service requirements.

--Support operation of the e-procurement platform, interacting with all stakeholders to ensure compliance, resolving issues that arise, and generating reports as necessary.

-- Work with various foodservice contract types, including fixed and index based pricing, administer rebate and incentive programs, manage educational funding and in-kind vendor support.

-- Support foodservice, procurement and strategic sourcing initiatives; drive continuous improvement in all foodservice procurement related processes.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education and Experience Bachelor's degree with five (5) years of experience performing the same or similar foodservice related functions or a combination of relevant education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  1. Knowledge of commercial foodservice practices, methods, programs and plans, including relevant regulatory requirements and applicable laws.
  2. Experience with commercial foodservice operations, preferably with multi-unit operations.
  3. Experience negotiating and administering various types of foodservice contracts, including complex and unusual terms and conditions; experience with administration of rebate and other incentive programs.
  4. Experience partnering with stakeholders at all levels to learn/understand business needs, provide superior customer service, and actively engage vendors.
  5. Knowledge of food and foodservice market conditions, trade practices, customs, sources of supply and resources.
  6. Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication skills.
  7. Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Oracle or related systems.
Certificates and Licenses None PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS* -- Frequently perform desk based computer tasks, use a telephone, site and use light/fine grasping.

-- Frequently stand, walk and write by hand, carry, push and pull objects weighing 10 pounds or less.

-- Occasionally kneel, crawl, climb, twist, bend, stoop, squat, reach or work above shoulders, grasp forcefully , and sort/file paperwork or food related products.
