The MBA Program at the Stanford Graduate School of Business seeks an experienced professional to serve as the Digital Communications Specialist. The central purpose of this role is to execute digital communications related projects for the MBA Program. The role requires both hands-on expertise in video/screencast development and presentation design as well as the ability to work closely with IT Media Services to manage faculty video shoots and production. The ideal candidate has expertise in Camtasia, Kaltura, Canvas, Powerpoint, Prezi, and other learning and video platforms. Experience in development of project timelines to drive on-time delivery of new content is key. The ideal candidate would also possess curiosity to learn new technologies as well as initiative to explore new platforms to improve the student experience. This person would be a fully-integrated member of the MBA Program team and reports to the Director of MBA Program Communications & Online Services.

JOB PURPOSE:

Develop and execute digital media production assignments requiring fully developed skills and understanding of area of specialization. Partner with internal and external clients regarding digital media and services. Serve as an in-house digital media expert for a school/unit.

CORE DUTIES*:

  • Research, prepare and produce digital media for instruction, promotional programs, location and studio programs, live video conferences and webcasts, live-on-tape studio, and/or other communicative purposes for both internal and external audiences.
  • Set up, operate, troubleshoot, and train other staff on a variety of platforms. Serve as the in-house digital media expert for the MBA Program.
  • Partner with clients to develop and manage creative projects within time and cost constraints.
  • Collaborate with clients on creative approaches to projects involving abstract or technical content to meet objectives: articulating the production process and expectations, communicating issues, providing status updates, and suggesting appropriate methods for improvement.
  • Develop and market digital services to internal and external clients.
  • Research, recommend, and implement hardware and software configurations to meet customer needs, create costs estimates for different options.
  • May act as liaison with vendors, develop strategies, workflows and rate cards for clients, identify competitive pricing for products and services and close projects for billings. * - Other duties may also be assigned MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


    Education & Experience:
    Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience.


    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Advanced technical experience using digital media equipment, video creation, editing software, and/or digital media control software.
  • Strong knowledge in production techniques including videography, compression and file delivery and other production formats.
  • Understanding of online video environment and online distribution.
  • Ability to adapt equipment setup and provide alternative setup or workarounds if necessary.
  • Ability to manage a variety of simultaneous projects within tight deadlines, excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, mature judgment, and diplomacy required to interact effectively with and provide customer service to a broad audience.
  • Ability to work independently as well as effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • May require experience planning, coordinating, and executing archival digitization projects. Certifications and Licenses: None
